DataSpace: View Data Grid

2024-03-28

The CAVD DataSpace (CDS) data portal is a custom project developed by LabKey and the Statistical Center for HIV/ AIDS Research and Prevention (SCHARP) at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch). The goal is to help researchers gain new insights from completed studies, making integrated data from all studies available within a web-based interface for browsing. Learn more about this project and how to create an account for browsing in this topic: Collaborative DataSpace: User Guide

View Data Grid

Clicking View data grid takes you to a grid view of the active filtered set of data. Columns are grouped by related characteristics on different tabs. The "Study and Treatment" tab is always present; others are included through plot or column selections. Shown here, "Study and treatment", "Subject characteristics", and two assays:

You can sort and filter these grids using the same methods as used on the Learn About pages.

Add/Remove Columns

Click Add/Remove columns to open the column selector. You can customize here which columns are displayed in the grid view. Choose Time Points under sources to see other column options for time:

Time point columns added explicitly here are retained, even if different alignments are subsequently chosen in the plot interface.

Export

Click Export CSV/Excel above the grid to export the data. Additional metadata is included, such as announcements for the user (for example a link to the terms of use), the date and time of export, details of filters applied to the participant set, etc.

In addition to the sheets (tabs) of data, the export includes additional sheets for:

  • Studies: A list of studies with data included in the export.
  • Assays: A list of assays included in the export.
  • Variable definitions: Definitions for all variables included in the export.
Export CSV generates a zip file containing individual .csv files for all sheets plus a separate .txt document for metadata.

Export Excel generates a single Excel file containing a separate sheet for each sheet, plus an additional sheet for metadata:
