Premium Resource - Specimen functionality is a legacy feature available with Premium Editions of LabKey Server. For new installations, we recommend using Sample Manager instead. Learn more or contact LabKey.

Specimen repositories cannot be deleted from the standard user interface. Individual specimen records can be deleted, but only in certain situations. The repository must be "Advanced", records must be "editable", and the SpecimenDetails table must be opened directly.

Configure the Ability to Delete Records

  • In the study folder, click the Manage tab.
  • In the section Specimen Repository Settings, click Change Repository Type.
  • Confirm Advanced (External) Specimen Repository is selected.
  • In the section Specimen Data, select Editable, if not already selected.
  • Click Submit to save changes.

Delete Specimen Records

To delete records, you access the base query named "SpecimenDetail". The easiest way is to reopen the page for managing repository settings.

  • In the study folder, click the Manage tab.
  • In the section Specimen Repository Settings, click Change Repository Type.
  • Next to the Specimen Data/Editable item, click the link Specimen Detail.
    • Note that if you have not saved the repository with editable specimens, this link will be available, but the delete option will not be present.
  • On the Specimen Detail grid, select the records to delete. You may select all records using the checkbox at the top of the grid view.
  • Click (Delete). You will be asked to confirm the deletion.
