The size limit is only as limited as your database's own size, so there are no record limits.

And specimen editing and specimen viewing are two separate things. For more details, please see our Specimen documentation which has our Specimen Admin Guide, Specimen Coordinator Guide, and other docs that throughly provide details on the Specimen Repository.
