New install, Home page editable when not signed in. rick.watts  2017-01-11 15:59

I have just performed a new install of LabKey 16.3 on Windows Server 2012 R2. Everything looks good except that the home page is editable when i'm not signed in. The home folder permissions are set for "all site users" and "guests" as reader and nothing else. See attachments. I have another install where the home page is not editable and appears to have the same permissions set. That install is version 15.30.

Is this a bug or is there a way to fix it?

Rick.

Hi Rick,

Yes, this is a bug... that placeholder "Welcome" wiki page (created at install time) thinks it was created by "guest", so guests are able to edit (the author of a wiki page can always edit it). This is the case only for that specific wiki page (plus the default wiki page in the /home/support folder); the fix is to delete the two placeholder wiki pages. New pages won't exhibit this behavior.

This came about because of a recent change in our installation process; we'll fix our "owner" permissions to exclude guest. Thanks for reporting the problem!
