After you have finished performing quality control on your imported assay data, you are ready to add the finished product to your study for sharing. You may only wish to copy a subset of results to your study because only a subset may be interesting or valid. We copy a subset of results in this example.

Install the Demo Study

If you have already installed the Demo Study as part of a previous tutorial, you can skip this step.

Select Data to Copy

  • On the assay tutorial portal page, click the GenericAssay link in the Assay List web part.
  • Place a checkmark next to Run1 and Run2 and click the Show results button.
  • Since we only wish to copy a subset of results to our study, we sort our results to find data of interest. Click the ParticipantID column and choose Sort Ascending.
  • Select all four results for the first participant (249318596).
  • Click the Copy to Study button.
  • Using the dropdown, select the Demo Study. (You can also set the default target study: Admin -> select an assay design -> Manage Assay Design -> Set Default Values -> Batch Fields -> Target Study.)
  • Click Next. You will see:
  • Notice that specimens have been matched based on ParticipantIDs and Dates in the demo study.

Confirm Copy

  • Click Copy to Study
  • You will now see the dataset that has been copied to the demo study.

Organize the New Assay Data in Your Study

As a finishing touch, place this new dataset into the "Assays" category in your study.

  • In the Demo Study, click the Manage tab.
  • Click Manage Datasets.
  • Click GenericAssay (in the Datasets list).
  • Click Edit Definition.
  • In the Category field, enter "Assays".
  • Click Save.
  • Click the Clinical and Assay Data tab.
  • Notice that your data has been added to the Assays section.
