Preparation Steps

If you are upgrading to a new version of Apache Tomcat, see Supported Tomcat Versions for important information about using different versions of Tomcat with LabKey Server.

Upgrade Options

• Windows. You can upgrade LabKey Server on Windows using the Windows graphical installer. See Install LabKey Server via Windows Installer for instructions on using the Windows installer.
• Linux. If you have installed LabKey Server using the Linux installer, you can upgrade using the script called upgrade-labkey.py. See Upgrade LabKey via the Linux Installer for details.

• If you are upgrading a manual installation of LabKey Server on Linux, Solaris or Mac OSX, you can use the manual-upgrade.sh script to streamline the upgrade process. See Manual Upgrade Script for MacOSX, Solaris and Unsupported Linux Distributions for more information.
• If you are upgrading a Windows Server on which you performed a manual installation (i.e. you did not use the Windows graphical installer), you can use the upgrade batch script described here.
