Modules are the functional building blocks of LabKey Server. Features are organized into groupings within these modules and each edition of LabKey Server includes the modules needed for providing the supported features. In general users do not need to concern themselves with the specific module names. Refer to this page for which features are included in your edition: An administrator can see which modules are available on the server on the > Site > Admin Console > Module Information tab. Each gives a brief description of the contents.

Developers can also add additional modules providing custom functionality, as needed. Learn more in this topic:

Some folder functionality is determined by the set of modules that are enabled in that folder. The Folder Type of a project or folder determines an initial set of enabled modules, and additional modules can be enabled as necessary. Learn about enabling modules here:
